I can't recommend this tutorial series enough. It is great, especially if you HATE plowing through "how-to" books. This one DVD will get you through 400 pages of one of those in about one fifth the time.

Aside from being very thorough and professional, Mr. Smart has included exercises (with answers) in PDF format to accompany each of the major sessions. That makes the entire process stick! You do the tasks as he does, while watching and listening, then you close the tutorial and try it on your own with new scenarios.

There's no better way to learn in a short time. The only way Mike Smart's instructional DVD's could be better is if there were more of them.

This product is extremely well prepared it is clear in its presentation and explains a very complex subject in a concise way. It is broken down into segments that allow a student to review each as a separate lesson. I have had many years using Excel but never have I had it explained with such clarity and depth. No doubt other users of Excel are proficient in the areas that they use regularly but have little knowledge of the more esoteric functions. With this Expert Skills programme they are explained clearly and with the examples (available online) are easy to follow.

Now having worked through some of the exercises I have found my basic knowledge lacking in some areas. Therefore I have ordered the Essential Skills series so that I can fill in the knowledge gaps and better understand the explanations. I thought that as I had worked with Excel for years I would be able to progress to the Expert Skills programme without working through the Essential Skills but I needed a better base knowledge to progress in a more structured way.

I recommend that if you are a regular user of Excel and want to grow your knowledge then start with the Essential Skills first and enjoy the Expert Skills programm as a follow on.

I bought it to learn Excel 2007 Pivot Tables and after I did his lesson, I had a test at an accounting temporary agency and I passed the test. His teaching style is excellent and when I had a question, I emailed him for help and he got back to me ASAP and told me the problem.
